• One of the best sources of stock market quote data and historical stock market quotes and dividends and such freely available for personal use is Yahoo! Finance, which even takes the extra step of providing finances badges such as the one seen on the right for you to post delayed stock quotes of your web site. They also allow download of financial data, both current delayed quotes and historical daily data, from their web site into your spreadsheet for your personal use.
   
• If you know of any ticker symbols you think ought to be added to this list of high yield monthly dividend payers, please let me know (Other feedback is also welcome)

DOUBLED DOWN ON HARVEST ENERGY TRUST Update 7/13/09

Recently after watching the dividends get cut and the value of my holdings in Harvest Energy Trust (HTE) drop almost 50% and approach its 52 week lows, I became absolutely convinced it was time to buy. Therefore, instead of acquring a new position in a different high yield monthly dividend security, I doubled down on HTE. Looking around, it seemed the popular consensus was the same as mine, that by and large Harvest will outperform. There may be some additional short term pain, but the near-long-term gain should be significant. Nobody seems to think that oil prices will stay so completely supressed for very much longer, with the related stocks still trading at armageddon levels, and I have to agree. Even modest growth, combined with significant inflation, I think will send these energy stocks soaring. Harvest in particular is struggling to wade through the downturn, but has cut dividends to help eliminate debt and is very well positioned to benefit handsomely from the forthcoming rebound, which I believe is now right around the corner. This is one that could never trade this low ever again, or at least not until heavy dependence on oil is eliminated some 50 to 100 years down the road. Therefore, while I would by no means put all my cards in the HTE basket, I have added a few more to the bunch. I knew it was a great deal when I originally bought it, and after the price dropped 50% from that level, I just had to buy some more.

IN SEARCH OF DATA FEED Update 7/13/09

I am currently in search of a good stock symbol data feed, please let me know if you know of any. It needs to specifically allow redistribution of data. Basically, I want to import stock symbol data, analyze it and create charts, and post those charts here on this web site (i.e. redistribute stock market data), without being in violation of any copyrights or terms of service and such. My needs here are not heavy or complex, and a basic service would do just fine. I am shopping around to see what I can get. Stay tuned.

So far I have been most impressed with the products, services, knowledge, and reposnsiveness of the stock market data provider xignite.com. CSI, although less responsive, also gave me a very attractive offer for a data feed.

ADDING LINKS TO SEC FILINGS FROM EDGAR DATABASE Update July 5, 2009
